Microbicides are substances that have the potential to reduce rates of AIDS infection and unwanted pregnancy and are therefore seen as a great hope in places like Africa and India. CONRAD is conducting clinical trials with microbicides in India, Africa and the USA. We take a look at the important work CONRAD is doing to offer new hope to areas hardest hit by the AIDS pandemic.
