21 nations gather in Dakar to fight childhood cancer

Meeting reviews progress of My Child Matters program

My Child Matters is one of the largest initiatives dedicated to fighting childhood cancers in low-and-middle-income countries. The program has been operating in 21 countries since 2004 to improve the treatment and survival chances for children with cancer. The My Child Matters Forum in Dakar, brought representatives from around the world together to re-affirm their commitment to work together in this fight. Senegal's Minister of Health led the way, signing the Dakar Manifesto, a commitment to improve awareness, diagnosis and care for children with cancer in the developing world.
