Access to basic hygiene still lacking in Pakistan
Female community workers spreading clean water message
The recent floods in Pakistan have devastated a fifth of the country. With large numbers of people displaced into camps, sanitation and access to clean water are significant problems.
This report, provided by UNICEF, shows how female health workers are educating women in the affected areas on the importance of hygiene and immunization.
UNICEF, Water Advocates and other partners are calling for relief efforts to be intensified. They have produced a report highlighting research on the impact a lack of access can have on children's development in particular.
