The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) provides global leadership for research, training and education programs to promote the prevention and treatment of heart, lung, and blood diseases. NHLBI has established 11 Centers of Excellence in developing countries such as Bangladesh and their collaboration with other international organizations helps to reduce the burden of global chronic disease.
