Human rights to loom large in 2011
Interview with Alvaro Bermejo, International HIV/AIDS Alliance
As we look forward to what will be on the global health agenda for 2011, Alvaro Bermejo, Executive Director of the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, joins Global Health TV’'s Ciaran Flannery in the studio.
Bermejo tells us why progress on rights issues in places like India, and set-backs in Africa and Eastern Europe, point to an increased focus on human rights in HIV/AIDS health over the coming year.
He also talks about why HIV/AIDS is becoming an even larger problem in Haiti in the year after the quake and why the global economy is likely to encourage donor countries to re-focus their aid efforts.
