Global Health TV, produced by WebsEdge/Health, brings the global health community together. Through the power of online television we share inspiring stories on the work being done around the world to tackle HIV, AIDS, TB, Malaria and other diseases, build health systems and reduce infant and maternal mortality. Global Health TV shows that there is hope for a brighter, healthier future.
Leading research in Maternal and Child Health
Institute for Women’s Health, University College London & UCL Hospital
The Institute for Women's Health (IfWH) brings together individuals with expertise across the whole spectrum of women's health, from laboratory science to clinical skills to social and behavioural sciences. Their objective is to make a major contribution to the health of women, both in the UK and internationally, by pioneering research, education programmes and clinical initiatives. In Uganda, the IfWH has collaborated with counterparts to form the Ugandan Women's Health Initiative (UWHI). So far, the UWH has initiated ten projects in Kampala and Jinja; some have already been completed, others are fully operational and some are in the development phase. Closer to home, in the UK, they are working on the M(ums) Power project - engaging women in determining their antenatal care.
