Bonnie Shepard and Amy Rice of Social Sector Development Strategies, Inc. and Sangeetha Purushothaman of Best Practices Foundation have conducted new research into sex-selective abortions in India that suggests these terminations have a potentially devastating effect on economies and societies. Bonnie Shepard tells Global Health TV about the research and why sex ratios are changing dramatically over time as families abort healthy female fetuses in preference for male children.
