Calls for end to abstinence-only HIV prevention programs

There were heated scenes at the International AIDS Conference 2010 in Vienna as PEPFAR, the United States President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, came under fire for continuing to promote abstinence and fidelity over condoms in its HIV prevention programs. Started by President George W. Bush, the Obama administration was expected to widen PEPFAR's remit to include promoting condom use.

This has not yet happened, so the administration and PEPFAR chief, US Global AIDS Ambassador Eric Goosby, were targeted by groups calling for change. Global Health TV talks to those who think PEPFAR needs to change its policies and asks, "why?"
