Stillbirths: The Invisible Public Health Problem
2.6 million babies stillborn in 2009
Global Health TV reports on the launch of the Lancet Series on Stillbirths. Recent data shows that more than 2.6 million stillbirths occur each year. It is a serious problem for low and middle income countries and wealthy nations alike. Despite the startling numbers, stillbirth is a global health problem that has not received attention. The Lancet Series analyses stillbirth rates and causes and sets out key interventions and targets for 2020.
